Sugar & Spice

I cannot begin to describe how loved I felt last weekend. My sister Bridgette threw me the most special, thoughtful and beautiful baby shower. She had every last detail covered. From the super pretty decorations to the amazing food (she hand made me cotton candy- love her) it was lovely!

I was surrounded by my family and friends and we had such a wonderful time celebrating baby Gwyneth. I love you all and can’t wait for you all to meet her!

30 Weeks

Wow! We have arrived at 30 weeks and I am so excited! Baby Gwyneth is getting stronger everyday – or at least her kicks and wiggles are. My doctor told me at our last appointment that she expects baby to weigh in between 8-9 lbs at birth. Oh boy. Sounds like she is going to take after me on that front, I weighed in at 8lbs 6 oz. Only time will tell…eeks!

I am really hoping the next 10 weeks breeze by. I don’t want to wish them away because being pregnant is such an amazing and special experience, but I am so looking forward to meeting my little girl. I can’t wait to see her face and snuggle her day and night.

Gwyneth’s Room

Hooray! We are done decorating little G’s room and I LOVE it. I had a lot of fun putting it together, but I have to say I feel so happy that it is all done and I can check it off my list. Some nights I just go sit in there and read stories to her while I rock. I am counting down the days until I get to do the same with her in my arms instead of in my belly. Life is good.

Home stretch

Well I am in the home stretch, sort of. I am officially in my third trimester and loving it. I know the next 11 weeks are going to feel like eternity as I wait to meet little G. Hopefully they go as smoothly as the last several have.

She continues to be a mover and a shaker. I am starting to practice for those sleepness nights as she likes to wake me a few times a night with her high kicks. She loves to bee-bop to music and doesn’t seem to be too particular to what she likes to jam to.

Here is my latest not-so-little bump photo:

And I wanted to toss one of Trev and I in the mix. Today Mom, Bridgette and I enjoyed a tea party at Valley Shepherd and Trevor was our server. What a handsome fella he is.

Celebrating Sister

Last weekend Mom, Bridgette and I packed up and drove down to Utah to shop, eat and have fun! It just so happened we were also able to celebrate Bridgette’s upcoming birthday.

We shopped until our hearts were content at IKEA (horray!) and then went to dinner at Fuji thanks to a recommendation from our hotel. It was delish and so much fun! Our cook was hilarious and it was a nice way to top of a super fun girl-time day.

On Bridgette’s birthday we celebrated at the Rutz house with a yummy cake Cody made. Cheers to a fantastic year ahead B- love you!!

Bringing up Bebe

I just finished reading Bringing up Bebe and give it an A.  I personally enjoyed the book and the perspective Pamela brings to parenting. I am sure there are plenty out there who would give this book a much lower grade and say it is not “scientifically proven”, but I wasn’t looking for a medical/professional opinion book I just wanted to read from a Mom’s perspective.

The book follows Pamela as she raises her family in Paris and notices the drastic differences between her parenting styles which are modeled after her upbringing in the States versus those of the French children.

I found several great nuggets of advice that I am going to try and put into use once little G is here.

Bumpity Bump

I am officially in the last week of my second trimester. Yay! I am getting really excited for July to be here, I cannot wait to snuggle her. And watch her Daddy dote on her.

Happy Easter!

I am a bit late with this post, but hope that everyone had a great Easter! We enjoyed family time over the weekend. Trev and I took Drake and Connor to our church Easter Egg hunt along with my Mom. The boys were so cute to watch — Connor was good after picking up about 3 eggs and Drake kept up with the other kids his age and hunted eggs like there was no tomorrow.

On Easter we enjoyed service and spent the afternoon at my parents house with my family and grandparents. Lots of fun to have everyone together. Three cheers for Spring!

Spring is here!

We have had some sunny days and some rainy days, but Spring is officially here. Looking forward to more of the sunshine and green grass, pretty flowers. In the meantime, we have been working on a lot of inside projects for baby’s room. We have a few more to-do’s and then I’ll be posting pics. Excited for you all to see her little room.

Baby has been growing and is my tiny dancer in the late hours of the night. I have been feeling great and loving this stage of my pregnancy. I am eating like there is no tomorrow which is a very welcome change and my energy is still holding strong, yay!

Happy Spring!

She’s growing!

Well baby girl is getting bigger and stretching out like crazy. I feel her move constantly and her favorite time to dance up a storm is between 10pm-1am – she is a night owl like her Daddy. According to Baby Center, she is now 11 inches long and weighs in at just over a pound.

I am a bad mommy and didn’t get a photo for 22 weeks. We were busy relaxing at Mom and Dad’s place in Vegas and I didn’t even pack my camera. The week away from work was wonderful though, Trev and I really got to unwind and soak up some sunshine. Loved it!

But we did get a photo snapped for this week – little Gwyneth is starting to show more!
