Whitewater Banquet

Last night Trevor and I got to go to the Western Whitewater Association Banquet. My Dad buys a table every year and takes friends and family. We have always been out-of-state in the past so this was our first year to go. It is a really nice event- they have a sit down dinner, full bar (must-have), silent aution, live auction and raffle off a ton of prizes.

The event was at the Idaho Center and was filled with people and all the gear and boats a person could imagine.

This boat was Trevor’s favorite. Talk about a bus, it was huge and even had carpet in part of it!

Our table had a lot of fun. Dad invited Warren, Deon and Jason and Trev and I brought my Grandpa with us and Dad rode out with Bridgette and Cody.

By the end of the night, our table won 5 prizes….all won by my Dad!! He sure has figured out the odds on the raffle drawing. Thanks for a fun night Dad!

Birthday fun

Last night we celebrated Larissa’s birthday at Cool Hand Lukes in Eagle. It was fun to have them all out to our side of town. We came back to the house and played games and laughed until our cheeks hurt!! The favorite game of the night was Imaginiff…a seriously fun game and I would recommend it to anyone. Before we knew it, it was midnight and time for everyone to head home.

The most exciting news of the night had to be that Larissa and Allen are expecting! Trev and I get to be a new Auntie and Uncle in September! We are so excited for them and can’t wait to welcome Baby Barto into this world.

wii-lly fun

Last night we had plans to catch a Steelheads game with Bridgette and Cody, but unfortunately we got to the game and found out the opponents’ team went bankrupt — so no game. Boo.

We took advantage of our trip to The Grove and grabbed dinner at the Brick Oven Bistro, which was delicious. The staff were all really helpful and friendly too. After dinner we were off to the Rutz household to play wii. I always knew the wii would rock my world, but truly…I am in love with it.

We played bowling and tennis for hours! I am partial to the bowling, probably because my tennis swing needs a ton of work.

Then the boys played a little Mario Cart:

Even Drake was in on the action…he was so cute playing with the controller and loving the games.

I am hoping a wii will grace the Caster household one of these days! Can’t wait!

Saving the planet one scrap at a time

Check out this interview Jamie Cooper (CEO at Drake Cooper) had with Channel 12 news station. Very cool to work for a company that has a big green heart.

Allen’s Birthday

Today is Allen’s (Trevor’s brother-in-law) birthday so last night we went out with Allen and Larissa and Trevor’s parents to celebrate. We started off with dinner at Brick 29 Bistro. It was AMAZING! Best food I have had since we have been back in Boise. Very cool place in downtown Nampa and the service and food were phenomenal. Look how pretty our food was:

I had the Filet Mignon:

Trev had the Red Snapper special:

And Larissa and Linda had the Rosemary chicken:

And it tasted ten times as good. I definitely suggest heading over and checking out the restaurant if you haven’t had the chance.

After dinner we headed back our way and caught the movie Gran Torino. It was also a great choice and one of the best movies I have seen in a long while. Put it on your must see list! All in all it was a wonderful night of good food, good fun and good family.

Drake at Christmas

My nephew Drake loves to tap his feet to the beat of any song. And on Christmas Eve Taylor Swift was his favorite. His foot tapping is my favorite!

New Year’s Eve Celebration

We had a great NYE celebrating with my family and Trevor’s sister and husband. We gathered at the Rutz pad to do some serious board game playing. We had a blast and managed to get through 5 board games even with the Absolut and Hypnotic flowing. We played Partini, Apples to Apples, I love the 80′s, Imaginiff and Balderdash. All were a great time. The Legends came out on top though and snagged the trophy. 2nd place went to Team Barto, 3rd place to The Saloontics and Trev and I finished 4th. It was a great night!
