Las Vegas here we come!

Yippy! Trev and I head out on a mini-vacay on Thursday. We have been looking forward to a quick getaway to the sunshine and sin of the city. We’ll soak up some rays for everyone and throw a few back for you too. ;)

Pictures and videos to come–have a great rest of the week!

Our patio cover- Part 1

This weekend Trevor and my Dad started building our patio cover. I have to tell you I am so super excited to have one! We started building it Saturday (and by “we” I mean my Dad and Trev) and put up all the beams, posts, and cover. Then today we (and this time I helped) painted the trim, added the Z-metal and the siding to dress up the beam. Now all that is left is to add the shingles tomorrow night and then paint the rest of it over the weekend. Looking forward to enjoying it this summer!

Here are some fun progress pics. I’ll make sure to add another post once we finish up.

A few page turners in April

Although it isn’t quite the end of April yet, I finished up my books for the month and wanted to get them posted so I can jump on to my next batch for May.

I read some great books this month, but my favorite was definitely Angels and Demons hands down. I even passed it on to my Mom and she read the entire book over the weekend and loved it. It is one of those books that just sucks you in and you can’t wait to get home to jump back into what is happening. Check it out if you’ve got some time. :)

Spring has sprung!

Yippy! The girls and I enjoyed our first of many lunches outdoors on the patio of downtown Boise. Today we hit up the Casbah and enjoyed a spread of Mediterranean food and the lovely sunshine of the patio.

Bridgette’s BD Celebration

Today we celebrated my little sister’s 26th birthday—horray! But boy do I feel old, 30 is creeping up on me faster than I realized. Although Bridgette’s BD isn’t until Thursday we celebrated early since her and Drake will be headed to see Cody on her actual birthday. We are all so excited that they get to meet up in Dallas and spend some time together.

So for the pre-BD festivities we met at Texas Roadhouse for some yummy grub and cold brewskies. Drake was such a good boy the entire time at dinner—the stuffed lizard on the wall definitely kept his attention for some time.

After dinner we went back to The Rutz household for dessert and presents…my favorite part. ;)

And then at Drake’s urging we went outside and played on the slide and threw the ball for Alexa. Drake’s most FAVORITE thing to do is be outside now, so he is always eager to take advantage of the sunshine and fun when he can.

Happy, happy birthday my dear sister—we love you!

Sunny Saturday

Today was absolutely beautiful—and a perfect day to finally stain our fence. We have been putting it off for some time now, so today we finally bit the bullet and stained away. Talk about a huge task though, good thing Chloe was there to help out.

We forgot to take a final pic, but I am so happy with how it turned out! Our fence looks better then brand new, yay!

To top off the evening we decided to take a bike ride. It started out great, but about 20 mintues into it and all the way down in Eagle my poor front tire decided to be flat..boo. So I ended up walking my bike home as Trev did circles around me on his way cooler bike. Flat tire and all though, we chalked today up to a great day outdoors!

The wonderful Ms. Spears

Bridgette and I have had a long time love for Britney Spears. We stuck with her through the awful episodes of 2007-2008 and I am so glad we did. Our girl is back!!

We flew down to SLC Tuesday to catch her Circus Tour. What a killer concert! Before and in between sets there were uber talented circus performers and then the whole production of her show was incredible. We had the time of our lives! Even the opening act of the PCD was super entertaining.

Before the concert we were able to squeeze in dinner at Bambara. It was beyond delicious and our server was excellent. I highly recommend you check this place out if you are in SLC, it is located in The Hotel Monaco.

Here are some photos and video of our fun one-night trip, enjoy!

Easter Fun

This Easter was filled with lots of family time and fun. We spent Easter in Ontario, Fruitland, Nampa and Boise and loved every minute of it. We picked up Trevor’s grandparents this morning and took them out to Ontario for church with the Caster clan and then we went to Larissa and Allen’s in Fruitland for a huge brunch. We are still stuffed!

Then it was back to Boise to spend some time with my family at my Grandparent’s house. It was a lot of fun to see my cousins and their little ones too. The kids had a great time hunting eggs while we were there.

We are very blessed to have such wonderful family in our lives. Thank you all for a memorable Easter!

Tanner’s Birthday Fun

Today is Tanner’s 7th birthday! I cannot believe how big and grown up he is getting. We started the day off with his soccer game. His team won, yay! Then it was off to Payette for pizza and arcade games with his friends and fam.

We all had a blast (adults included) in the arcade. Allen schooled us at pool and Trev ran the air hockey table. I on the other hand only succeeded in beating Trev at hoops (again). :)

Happy, happy birthday Tanner!

Happy Easter!

My sister made this wonderfully adorable graphic and I thought it was perfect for Easter so I borrowed it from her blog and added to ours. We wish all of you a wonderful Easter filled with many blessings and joy.
