BBQ at the McDowell’s

Crissie and Nick threw a great BBQ for a bunch of us on Saturday. They made some kind of steak sandwiches that were delicious. Not sure what type of seasoning, but it was spicy and yummo!

It was fun to hang out with the crew and see everyone’s dogs play. We left Chloe at home, not sure if it was a “BYOD” event, but now we know the more furry friends the better. This is Guss (lab), Bergie (King Cavalier/Bichon Frise mix) and Doug (Golden). They all played so good with one another!

Since Doug is only 6 weeks old, he would frequently get tired and require a little napski. I caught him in the act and had to take a pic. He is so sweet!

Trev played a new dart/beer game that we hadn’t played before. Lucky for him he is pretty good with darts. :)

Dog days of Summer

This Saturday we took Chloe to Settlers Park to play. She LOVED getting out of the house and running all over the park.

This pic sums up her feelings of the day:

Talk about a happy dog! We stayed for about an hour just cruising around checking stuff out. We noticed that they just put in about 20 horse shoe pits— we’ll definitely have to try those out one of these days. Any takers?

Memorial Day

This year was really low key. We stuck around town and relaxed, soaked up some sun and hung out with our family.

Friday night we hit up BWW with my Mom (Dad was up working in Stanley) and then went to see Angels & Demons. So glad we did, it was great! The screen play is definitely different from the book (which I could not put down) but they did a great job in making it work for the big screen. I highly recommend you check it out.

Then Monday we spent the day in Payette and Fruitland catching up with the Caster and Barto crew. Trevor’s parents made an awesome lunch and we even roasted marshmellows. A few good games of ladder ball were won and then we cruised over to Larissa & Allen’s to see baby Carson’s room . Allen is remodeling a room in their house for the nursery and it is going to look perfect! It was fun seeing all the goodies they have picked out for little Carson, we can’t wait until he is here!

Linda’s Birthday

Last Friday we celebrated Trevor’s mom’s birthday. We met the crew in Nampa for dinner at The Olive Garden and enjoyed yummy food and tasty drinks. Next up we cruised over to Edwards and caught Star Trek. Trevor had been DYING to see this movie since it came out so we all bucked up and went to it. So glad we did, it was an awesome movie. And this is coming from a non-trekie. Seriously, I would give this flick a shot if you are even thinking about it.
Trev and his Mom

Trev and Mason—one of these days Mason is going to pass us all!
He may have had a little help from the curb on this one. :)

Taylor Swift Rocks the House!

WOW! I was thrilled to go to the Taylor Swift concert and expected a good show, but I had no idea. The show was killer!

It started off with Kellie Pickler who was adorable and boy, can that girl sing! Then Taylor took over and just brought the house down. So many set changes, great costumes, and oh yeah, her voice is fabulous! I think she is a huge inspiration for so many young girls out there (and oldies like me). I had a fun time watching all the young girls in the audience get super excited and have the time of their lives.

While all the little chicks were having a blast, so were us oldies. My mom, sister and I enjoyed the night and Trev kept us in check. I even caught him singing along to one of the songs. :)

Enjoy the pics!

WoodRiver Cellars

Last night we went out to WoodRiver Cellars in Eagle with Bridgette, Lindzee and Trevor’s parents. The winery was having a hypnotist and comedy show so we thought we would check it out.

Glad we did! The night was a blast and we had tons of laughs! I can’t believe how funny a few of the hypnotized people were—seriously hilarious. And the wine was great too. I had both the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Noir (which I can’t find online). The Pinot was excellent and a type of Pinot I hadn’t ever tried before. I was told it was made from two different types of pinot grapes which gave it it’s blush color instead of the deep red typical of pinots as well as the somewhat sweeter taste. I would really recommend you give it a taste if you get out to WRC.

I forgot my camera last night so unfortunately I don’t have any pics from our fun night—you’ll just have to take my word for it! :)

Yummy Jus

Jus is the greatest little find ever! It all started out with my Mom. She works at St. Al’s hospital and overheard one of the doctors and staff talking about Jus and the benefits of drinking it. She really got excited when she heard it contains ingredients that directly work to counter Eczema and Cirrhosis. Since my
Dad unfortunately suffers from Cirrhosis she grabbed a few bottles and thought what the heck, we are going to give it a try. She was able to convince my Dad to try it and the two of them now drink Jus everyday.

So after seeing it at my parent’s house I met with a few of my mom’s colleagues at the hospital and their stories were amazing. One man has a 21 year old daughter who suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was at the point where all ten fingers had become “trigger fingers”, highly painful and very problematic. She also felt terrible pain in her day to day life, even just walking. After hearing about Jus, my mom’s co-worker signed up and started his family on the program. He was happy to tell me that after 3 months of drinking Jus, his daughter is transformed. Just last week she stood on her tippy toes– a normal occurrence for us, but impossible for her 3 months prior.

Besides hearing this amazing story, the actual ingredients that Jus contains is what got me. Jus is the all-natural blend of 23 simple, yet powerful ingredients which provide you vitamins, minerals and compounds that combine to help your body function at optimum efficiency. If you click on the ingredients below it will take you to a page that explains the benefits of each one.

Acai palm
Acerola
Aloe vera juice

Apple concentrate
Aronia berry
Cranberry extract
Ginseng
Grape seed extract

Grape skin extract
Green tea
Lycium Berry (Wolfberry)
Mangosteen
Noni fruit
Pomegranate
Prune extract
Raspberry
Reishi mushroom
Sea buckthorn
Strawberry
Tart cherry extract
White tea

Wild bilberry extract
Wild blueberry

So Trev and I started drinking Jus a week ago. The taste is nice, not too bitter or syrupy. My outcome: I haven’t had to take any allergy medicines at all in the past week. No nasal spray, antibiotics, excedrine, nothing. And my headaches were gone by day 3. My energy levels are up and my skin is feeling much softer. My itchy eczema has even seemed to give me some much needed relief. Now I can’t prove that Jus is the sole party responsible for these wonderful things happening, but it can’t be hurting the chances either.

The way we look at it, as much as we try to eat healthy, we just aren’t taking in the necessary amount of fruits and vegetables that our bodies need. Jus contains 13 servings of fresh fruit and veggies. And all I have to do is drink 1 ounce a day!

Seriously, I wouldn’t be bugging you guys with this post if I didn’t think that you could benefit from it. You can find tons of information here in much more detailed form. You can even sign up and order directly from the site. Or if you want to chat with me about it or if you have questions just holler. I would be more than happy to share my story and what we think about it.

Cheers to health and happiness!

Race for the Cure

Today was wonderful! Over 15,000 people turned out for the Boise Race for the Cure, a new record! Think Pink had a team that walked and we also had our booth set up to sell our shirts–which were a huge hit again, yippy!
I want to thank my family for helping us set up and for walking with me and also Trev’s family who made the trek from Fruitland and Payette to help support me and the cause, I am so lucky to have such a wonderful group of people I can call family.

Here are a few photos from the best Race day ever!
