2009 Reading List

I am happy to report that all 3 books I read this month were excellent.  My favorite was Water for Elephants with My Sister’s Keeper a close second. I don’t know why I was so reluctant to read Water for Elephants, but I am happy I gave the book a shot—it was an A for sure! And it has been a very long time since a book moved me to tears, and the last few pages of My Sister’s Keeper did just that.  Read it.

So now that 2009 is finishing up, I get the chance to look back over the books I have read this year.  What a fun, diverse spread it was!  I am looking forward to my reading in 2010 and guess what everyone….I got a nook — thanks hubby!

Since I will have the coolest e-reader around next year (it arrives 2/1/10), I am going to set my goal to 50 books for the year.  I wasn’t able to reach that goal in 2009, so I am really going to try and get there in the new year….we’ll see.  Thank you to those who recommended books to me this year—keep em coming!

  1. SO glad you liked Water for Elephants and My Sister's Keeper- I thought both were excellent as well. I think you will enjoy Three Cups of Tea and Hunger Games. Did you read the Twilight series? Supposedly Hunger Games is supposed to be the next Twilight (movie rights already sold even). I have read the first two and really liked them. Have you ever read The Giver? Hunger Games kind of reminds me of that…anywho- happy reading!!

  2. Oh forgot to tell you to add The American Wife, by Curtis Satterfield to your must read list-it is really good!
