Race for the Cure 2010
Prep
I just finished reading Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld last night. I read American Wife by her as well and LOVED it, so I thought I would give this one a shot too. I have to say American Wife is much, much better as my friend Vanessa warned me.
It isn’t that Prep is a bad book. The characters are likeable, the story is interesting, but I didn’t have the burning desire to hurry and pick it up to find out more. It took me forever to finish this book and I think that was in part to the lack of draw I had to it.
However, it was well written and a story I couldn’t necessarily predict from the beginning. I can’t say I would recommend this book, given so many other awesome ones I have read lately. But if you are fresh out of book ideas it is not a snore either.
Happy reading!

Birthday fun for Bridgette
Last Friday we celebrated my sister’s birthday by continuing the tradition of dinner at Texas Roadhouse. That cinnamon butter gets me every time, so delicious.
After dinner we enjoyed cake and fun at the Rutz house. I can’t believe my sister is 27 now, eek! That means the big 3-0 is right around the corner.
Happy birthday to you Bridgette and may this year be sweeter than the last. Love you!
No more leaks
So as some of you have heard, we found out last week our master bathroom tub has been leaking since, well, probably day 1. Last Thursday I came home to find a water bubble in the ceiling of our living room. Yikes! So to make a long story short, we are having some home repairs done to restore our home to how it should have been. I came home today to a crazy looking bubble room in our living room and master bath.
Here’s to hoping our home is back to normal by the end of the month!
April Showers bring….
Lots of love for my sister Bridgette! This past Saturday we showered her with gifts and fun as we anxiously await the delivery of sweet little Connor in June.
We had a great afternoon with many gracious family and friends — that little boy is already spoiled rotten!
I had so much fun planning the shower! This time around I did a French circus theme and played with the bright colors of a circus in a more elegant manner (Bozo wasn’t allowed into this party). For entertainment we rocked out to songs that included the word “Baby” in the title and guests had to guess both the title and artist. Some were pretty tricky but I tossed a few easy ones in there…I mean who doesn’t know “Baby, Baby” by Amy Grant right?
All in all it was a great afternoon and I am so happy I could celebrate my sister and her soon to be little boy. Bisous sister!

Tanner turns 8!
We celebrated Tanner’s birthday on Saturday in Fruitland. I can’t believe he is 8 years old!
Easter Blessings
We have so many of them! Trevor and I thank God everyday that we are blessed. We have such an incredible family and so many wonderful opportunities before us. Easter is a day we can pour out our thankful hearts for all that has been given to us.
And a day to feast on delicious food too…yummy. We had my family over for a late lunch and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon. Drake stole the show and we all marveled at how much he is talking now. It is so much fun to watch little ones get excited. He better be ready to share the spotlight next year, I have a feeling little Connor is going to be a show stopper too.
Julie’s Bachelorette Party
In a few months little Miss Julie is getting married, yippy! She was in town visiting Lindzee this weekend, so Friday night we started out at Lindzee’s place with some super yummy food–check out her blog at Cordon Pink. After we stuffed ourselves full and enjoyed some delicious beverages–the pomegranate sparkler was super tasty–we hopped in a limo and headed for Kuna.
Cowgirls was our final destination. Yee haw! We did a little dancing, sang a lot of country and just had a blast celebrating Julie! Here are a few pics from the night on the town:
Coming Up For Air
How on earth is today April 1st? I blinked and the rest of March just disappeared.
So many exciting things are happening that the days just blur together. I celebrated a fun and special day with some of my family this week as I was honored at the TWIN luncheon. It was a great accomplishment to be among so many talented professional women in our community. Thanks to all of you who were able to help me enjoy that moment!
And if that weren’t exciting enough, tomorrow my sister and her family are moving into their brand spanking new house! We are super excited that they will be in the neighborhood and look forward to sharing many fun times with them!
So cheers to April and the hopes that the days get a little longer!
