We snuck up to McCall this past weekend to enjoy the cabin one more time with the fam. It was perfect weather and hot enough to get in the lake and splash around. We relaxed, soaked up some sun and built sand castles. Chloe even enjoyed a few more dips in the lake too. All in all, a weekend well spent.

Thank you
This past week has been one that I never dreamed I would experience. Sadly I miscarried on Sunday. The loss of our baby is extremely difficult but we have faith that we will be blessed with a healthy pregnancy when it is our time.
Throughout this week I have been reminded how extrememly lucky I am to have the family and friends that I do. Each one of you have reached out in your own way and let me know you are here for me. Trevor and I have been showered with love, support and encouraging words and it has helped us to begin healing.
Thank you for all of your love and prayers. I am truly blessed to have each of you in my life.

The Help
Wow, this book was incredible! I give it an A+. The Help is written by Kathryn Stockett and is written from several characters’ perspectives. It is based in Jackson, Mississippi in the 60s and details the lives of both black and white women and the dynamics of living in that day and age.
I for one did not want to put this book down. It was amazing how she wrote so you felt you could hear their voices jumping off of the page.
I highly recommend you read this book immediately. It is a well written, interesting, heartbreaking and loving wrapped into one.

Fun in McCall
We have been lucky enough to enjoy the cabin in McCall for the last two weekends. McCall has always been one of my favorite getaways since I can remember. My family has been going to the cabin since before I was born and it is one of those places that holds so many great memories from my childhood to college to now.
We celebrated the 4th of July up there with my parents and my sister and her family and this past weekend we were back at it with my parents and all of Trevor’s family. We had a blast both weekends and are so grateful we have a place like the cabin to hang out with the fam and enjoy each other.

Our little Valentine
We have very exciting news to share with everyone — we are expecting! Our sweet little baby is scheduled to arrive on February 18th, 2011. Below is a photo, although I most certainly can’t make anything out. All I remember is watching the little heartbeat on the monitor and thinking it was one of the best moments in my life.
