Chloe’s Birthday!

My favorite little furball turned 5 today. This past year she has really grown up and mellowed out. Not a lot, but there has been a noticeable difference. Oh how I love my Chloe Bear, she always knows how to turn my frown upside down and snuggle me just right. I love her to pieces. Happy birthday Chloe!

Still here

Oh my. How has an ENTIRE month gone by already. Eeks! I can happily report that Thanksgiving was wonderful. We hosted our annual brunch with my family and then joined Trevor’s family for a great dinner. Our Christmas lights are up, tree decorated and stockings hung. I love this time of year. So many happy faces and so much to be thankful for.

So three cheers to enjoying this special time of year with the ones you love!

Letting go

As many of you know I like to plan. I like to plan a lot. So stepping back and allowing God to work in my life on His timetable has been a big adjustment for me. I know that God has an amazing plan for me, my problem is letting go and allowing His plan to work through me. So along came October. At church we began a sermon series titled “Living the Good Life” which really focused on trusting God and getting beyond myself.

This sermon series has been a huge blessing to me. I can honestly say that for the first time I have let go completely and have stopped trying to plan my life to the letter. I am turning to prayer to unload my worry and as I do, my load feels just a little bit lighter. I know that I am a work in progress and there will be days when it is harder to ride shotgun than drive, but I am feeling really fulfilled knowing how great it truly feels to step out from behind the wheel.

I stumbled on this video tonight and I had to share.

Bossypants

Wow. It has been FOREVER since I read a book. This job thing is really taking up my free time. Not to worry though, I finally wiggled in some time to read this past weekend. Bossypants by Tina Fey was pretty funny. There were a few parts were I laughed my behind off and others that were a bit of a snore. But it was fun to learn about Tina’s rise to fame. And who knew that her scar was from someone slashing her face when she was in kindergarten!?! Crazy stuff.  Overall I give it a B-. It was a quick and easy read – perfect for the weekend.

My Birthday

I am blessed. I know I say that a lot, but I really am. It’s not that I am lucky- I have only really ever won 2 things in my life from a drawing and after living in Las Vegas for 3 years, my biggest jackpot was $30.  Soo, I wouldn’t say I am the luckiest person.  But I am very blessed. My life is full of amazing people who make me smile. I have shoulders to lean on, hands to hold, and very special people who will skip through the streets with me when life is just that good.

So no matter what crazy challenges life seems to bring my way, I know I will cross the finish line because I have all of these wonderful people cheering me on. My life just keeps getting better each year. So happy birthday to me and a huge thank you to my loved ones for being so generous with your hearts.

Fun on the farm

Today Trevor and I took Drake and Connor to The Farmstead and had a super fun afternoon. We played in corn kernels, climbed spider webs, Drake bounced on “The Pillow”, Uncle T shot corn and pumpkins out of a cannon, and we picked out our very own pumpkins.

Fall we are ready for your arrival!

Summer Sendoff

Wow, September has flown by! And I think I have the Cabin to thank for that. We were lucky to have the family Cabin for the month of September and went up each weekend. I love that place. Seriously. Probably my favorite place. This month we happily celebrated Mom, Trevor, and Drake’s birthdays and enjoyed lots of sunshine, play time in the water, kayak rides, bike rides and camp fires.

Many more memories were added to my Cabin favorites. One that really stuck with me was watching Trevor and Drake hang out just the two of them around the campfire. Drake told me it was boy talk and that he thought it would be ok if I just went back inside. I love that he has fun with his “Uncle T” and I know Trev will be such a great Daddy when it is our turn. In the meantime our nephews are giving him great practice.

McCall thanks for a great summer sendoff — we’ll see you in December!

My 1st 5K!

Well I did it. I completed my first 5K at the Women’s Fitness Celebration this past weekend. Those of you who know me know I am not a runner. But my almost 31 year old arse decided that it was time to get moving and what better way to motivate myself right?

Trev was so great the day of the Race. He came down with me and took photos and cheered me on. Boy did I need it! My time is somewhat embarrassing, but in the end I finished. I ran 2 out of 3 miles which is more than I thought I could do and clocked in at 37 minutes. Yes, I am that out of shape. But getting better week by week.  So here is to hoping next year I complete the race in under 3o minutes and run the ENTIRE thing. Hip, hip, horray!
