Christmas Lights!

Yesterday we braved the cold and strung the lights on the house.   The sun was shining but oh boy, the wind was ruthless.   We bundled up (yes even Chloe Bear) and got to work.   An hour later we were finished and happy.  We even added the Christmas Star this year and it turned out perfect!  I tried to take a good photo of our finished product but no such luck.  I’ll try again tonight.

May you all enjoy the Season of Advent!

Craft time

This weekend I decided that while Trevor was away hunting I was going to get some crafting done.  And ta-da I did!  Bridgette, the boys, Mom and I went down to BSU on Saturday and gathered up hundreds of acorns.   I baked them all last night to kill any critters hiding inside and painted the styrofoam circles brown to hide any cracks the acorns didn’t cover.

Today I went over to the Rutz house and we glued the acorns to our wreaths.  After 4 hours and plenty of hot glue gun burns later, my wreath was finished and I love it!   Yay for Fall!

Our New Obsession

Ok, I have to admit that when Trevor told me he ordered a juicer off of an infomercial I was a little perturbed.  Did we really need a juicer?  Was it going to be a pile and a total waste of money?  I am happy to say I was wrong, VERY WRONG.  Our juicer may just be my new favorite thing.  You are probably thinking I need to get out more right?  Either way, this juicer rocks my socks.  It is the Jack LaLanne Juicer Pro and it is magic.

The first cocktail Trev made me was a carrot and apple juice mix.  I was a little nervous as I do not enjoy carrots much at all, but to my surprise it was delicious!  Next up he made me try a broccoli, celery, tomato mix and I was extremely nervous about it.  But to my shock, it was also tasty.  It tasted so much like the tomato I didn’t even taste the broccoli.  My favorite mix though is orange and mango, so refreshing and yummy.  Now sadly not every juice combo can be this good.  Sunday morning I caused a minor scene in the kitchen when I drank a spinach, celery, brocolette (cross between kale and broccoli) and tomato juice.  My stomach was not pleased as I gave it my all to hold down my breakfast.  So I can’t say ALL juices are great…but MOST are delish.  Just make sure your hubby doesn’t sneak a bunch of gross stuff in one while you aren’t looking.

I have also noticed a big increase in my energy. I have been able to work longer hours without feeling super groggy and I feel much more alert during those hours.  Could be coincidence, maybe not.

So for those of you who are thinking of getting a juicer, the Casters highly recommend it.  We love it and the juicer is a cinch to use.  Happy juicing!

Home Sweet Home

Finally, finally we are back to having our home to ourselves!  Our unfortunate re-model lasted 8 weeks too long, but now they are officially finished putting our house back together.   I wish I could say I was pleased with the process but honestly it was a nightmare.  How a super can’t notice a huge patch of ceiling not painted is really beyond me, but I guess it happens.  Or leaving a hole in the wall, who’s going to notice?  Seriously, I think we were their worst nightmare, but come on how can someone miss these things?!?

But on to the positive side, we have awesome new tile in our master bath and we are fortunate that the water damage wasn’t worse.

All I can say is it is good to have our home back to normal!
